After missing my flight yesterday morning from too much post AHS shenanigans and flying surrounded by 6 sugar fueled children (shoot me), I slept a grand total of 14 hour. Here’s a quick smattering of thoughts:
- Evolution, evolution, and more evolution – it’s kind of a big deal
- But…since the US still has a MAJOR issue with evolution, Mat “The Kraken” Lalonde, and others, set up a framework for evaluating food choice that comes to the same conclusion
- There are a ton of regulatory hurdles to practicing an ancestral diet (i.e. raw milk bans, heritage pork bans, limitations on farm-consumer sales, etc.)
- #1 road to acceptance of an ancestral diet, show that it saves money (i.e. Paleo Risk Assessment with Specialty Health in Reno)
- Grassfed beef, may have limitations that keep if from being the paleo holy sacred cow
- Lack of movement sessions was a mistake
- More awesome vendors this year, need more vendors next year
- Panel discussions were more mini talks by multiple people, need topics of discussion and moderators
- The “Great Carb Debate” is still in full swing
- Too few attendees in the room for panel on reclaiming health in the Latino community, these folks have the answer
- Food choices (catered lunch/food vendors) were outstanding
- Business cards and name tags are out, twitter handles are in
- Where were all the talks on gut flora and the microbiome?
- Beautiful attendees, everyone was vibrant and healthy
- No coughing or sneezing in the audience, not once
- Sustainable farm dinner was the highlight of the entire symposium
- Stop reading, go directly to US Wellness and buy the bacon, its that good
- Cambridge Common Playground next to Harvard should be the model for playgrounds and outdoor fitness parks, especially for adults
- Perhaps we all should have read Whole9’s posts on Anatomy of a Vacation
Expect a more through writeup as the chicken scratch gets turned into the written word, that and I consume a copious amount of Bullet Proof Coffee

Love it! So sad I wasn’t there to make Bulletproof Coffee for you in person!
Dave, you MUST attend next year. Can I sign you up to be my personal coffee barista?
